Autumn is rolling on in. It’s grey and rainy outside, I wake up to dim gloom rather than cheery sunlight, and last week I went out with my jacket for the first time in months. We’re getting towards the time of year when I need to make a huge effort to get outside and feel the benefits of midday daylight, even when it’s raining.

I’m trying to get excited about forthcoming events but somehow the buzz just isn’t there. Doesn’t help that I’m not going to HOYS (Horse of the Year Show) this year, and I’m still trying to work out if I can afford a day or so in London for Olympia. I am going to America in October and you’d think I’d be excited. BUT 1) I’ve never flown before 2) I’m flying on my own and 3) I’m meeting up with co-moderators from an internet group and although I’m sure they’re all lovely people, they’re all American and I’ll be the weirdo Yorkshire woman. Therefore I can’t help being wary.

Come on woman, think of something cheery.
